Duke graduate TE Braxton Deaver is "one of the better receiving tight ends in the country" when he's healthy, wrote NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter.
Alas, 2013 is the only real healthy season that Deaver's recorded at the college level. During that campaign, he earned a third-team All-ACC selection on the strength of 46 catches, 600 receiving yards and four scores. Everything around that's been darkness. In 2012, the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder was lost for the year after suffering a torn ACL in the winter and a fractured patella in the summer. In 2014, he suffered another torn ACL. When healthy, his best attributes are his soft hands and ability to accelerate on seam routes, but in the summer of 2014, CBS Sports analyst Derek Stephens wrote that Deaver has issues in blocking and lacks the athleticism you'd like to see in an NFL tight end. A healthy 2015 season is almost certainly a must if he wants a chance to crack the backside of the draft. Aug 19 - 7:42 PM
