Illinois senior safety Zane Petty is "more of an undrafted prospect right now," according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.
"He is rangy with the foot quickness to attack downhill, drop in coverage or recover after false steps. But he needs to improve his anticipation and decision-making when making a play on the ball, too often waiting for the play to develop before committing his momentum. Considered more of an undrafted prospect right now, Petty is one of the few seniors on this roster worth watching for the 2015 NFL Draft," Brugler wrote. Petty originally began his career at Colorado State where his father starred before playing with the Denver Broncos. The 6-foot-1, 205 pound safety played in 12 games and started the final seven, ranking fourth on the team in tackles with 75, and had at least eight tackles in five starts for the Illini last season.
