Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage says scouts want to see Indiana senior OT Jason Spriggs "show more explosiveness with his hips and hands in the run game and to secure the gap to his inside better in pass protection."
"He has a tall frame with long arms and more girth in his lower than upper body," Savage wrote. "Despite his level of playing experience, he still has some developmental traits as a prospect who can add weight and continue to improve his skill set at the position. Aligns as the left tackle in both two-and three-point stances, the Hoosiers run their version of the Spread with an emphasis on lateral movement and Zone blocking." Spriggs has received an invite to the Senior Bowl so Savage no doubt hopes that evaluators will get to watch for that at his event. A four-year starter at left tackle for Indiana, the 6-foot-7, 305-pound Spriggs is a former tight end. "The reality is that Jason has the height and athletic ability to be evaluated as a potential starter as a left tackle in the NFL," Savage wrote. "His upside is there because he can reach and steer as a run blocker and shows the movement skills to protect the edge." Nov 19 - 7:35 PM
