Florida State HC Willie Taggart said the Seminoles offense will play with more tempo and be less complicated than it has in the past.
Jimbo Fisher's offenses were criticized for being slow -- the Seminoles averaged just 61 plays per game last season, in the bottom-10 nationally -- and overly complicated. Taggart's offense is the opposite. He describes his Gulf Coast offense with the words "lethal simplicity." By that he means granting players supreme freedom within the up-tempo system, a tact that previously allowed Quinton Flowers' career to take off at USF. Taggart has plenty of toys to play with in Tallahassee, with two quarterbacks who have starting experience (Deondre Francois and James Blackman), a two-headed RB monster (Jacques Patrick and Cam Akers) and a host of athletes on the outside headlined by Noonie Murray and Auden Tate. They're a perfect fit for what he wants to do. Dec 11 - 3:21 PM
