Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline lists Stanford junior TE Kaden Smith as a player that has improved his stock after Saturday's performance against Oregon.
Smith was one of the key reasons that Stanford was able to come back against the Ducks, making six catches for 95 yards in the overtime victory. Pauline notes that not only does Smith (6'6/242) have a chance to be a first-round pick, but that he might be the top tight end prospect in the country. "In many ways, Smith is a bigger version of ex-Cardinal tight end Zach Ertz, the 35th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles," writes Pauline. "Smith is an oversized receiver with outstanding pass-catching skills and the speed necessary to split the seam." More games like the one against Oregon will see his draft stock continue to rise. Another intriguing match-up comes this Saturday against Notre Dame. Sep 24 - 5:23 PM
