Indiana WR Ricky Jones will attend the Colts' local prospect day.
At his pro day workout, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Jones ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41s, benched 18 reps, recorded a vertical leap of 31.5 inches, leapt 9-foot-7 inches in the broad jump, posted a 6.5s three-cone and an 11.17s 60-yard shuttle. Jones recorded 53 receptions for 848 yards and three touchdowns last year. He knows he'll need to make the NFL as a special-teamer, initially. "Being on special teams, I know [former coach Kevin] Wilson made that a big emphasis," Jones said. "I wanted to play special teams to give me an advantage, because I knew I wasn’t a 6-5, 4.2-speed type of guy." Indiana head coach Tom Allen lauded his work on that unit: "He was able to be excellent on special teams. I think that, as a receiver, sometimes guys in college just want to focus on being a great receiver and they don’t understand what the 53-man roster really looks like.
