One anonymous NFL scout believes UCF WR Tre'Quan Smith "may have" been the best blocking wide receiver he saw in this class.
"He started off a little slow but he’s not a sleeper anymore," said the scout. "He ran like a scalded dog. He’ll catch in the middle and he will block. He may have been the best blocking wide receiver I saw. He’ll be there in the third day because nobody’s talking about him but will end up being a good, solid player." The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Smith has been compared to Tennessee Titans WR Taejae Sharpe by NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "Strong, physical," a second scout said. "He’s a windup speed guy. Excellent downfield blocker. They used him more as a possession receiver. He was not the primary. No. 5 (Dredrick Snelson) was. He’s a nice project." Smith tested in the 64th percentile of NFL wideouts during the pre-Draft process. Apr 24 - 3:40 PM
