Tim Herron enjoyed a 4-under-par 31-35=66 in today's third round of The RSM Classic to post 7-under 205, up 33 places on the leaderboard.
The last time Herron shot 66 was in R2 of the 2014 HP Byron Nelson 44 rounds ago. He went on to finish T22 that week, only his second top-25 finish over the last three years (T15, 2013 PLAYERS). The 45-year-old, playing this season out of the Past Champion category, sits at T20 thru 54 holes, opening in 69-70-66. His effort today, which began on No. 10 tee, featured one birdie against one bogey to turn even. Following the break, he went bogey-free 4-under, circling birdies on Nos. 1, 3, 7 and a walk-off 3 at the par-4 ninth from 18'1". All four of his conversions on his final nine were from outside of 10 feet, with a long of 24'11 coming at the par-4 third. Sat, Nov 21, 2015 06:55:00 PM
