Jason Day settled for a 2-over-par 34-38=72 in his opening round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Easily one of the favorites at TPC Four Seasons where he's recorded his only PGA TOUR victory (2010) and finished no lower than T9 (2012), the Aussie hit 13 greens in regulation today and converted three early birdies, but played his last 11 holes in birdie-free 5-over. He made a mess of the par-4 eighth en route to a double bogey before fanning on a pair of par attempts inside seven feet at Nos. 14 and 15. His last bogey was as a result of flying the green at the par-3 17th hole. Now, he's carded exactly one 72 in each of his three previous appearances (solo fifth, 2011), but there's no guarantee that he'll reel in another top 10 on a track where he's already 12 shots in arrears of the clubhouse leader.

Jason Day returns to one of his best stops on the PGA TOUR for the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Day won in his first trip to TPC Four Seasons in 2010, and racked up top 10s in 2011 and 2012. He's made each of his 10 cuts in 2013, and enters the week off of a T19 at THE PLAYERS. Given his success and strong current form, he is a perfect play in every fantasy format this week.

Jason Day carded a bogey-free, 4-under-par 33-34=67 in his opening round of the RBC Heritage, good for a share of the early clubhouse lead with fellow Aussie Marc Leishman.
Although it's not unexpected, it's good to see Day get right back on the horse at Harbour Town. He tied for ninth in his last trip to Hilton Head in 2011. He hit 15 greens and circled four birdies today, the longest of which falling from 22'9" at the par-4 sixth hole. He also avoided danger at the par-3 17th where he scrambled for par, pouring in his save from 14'1".

Jason Day spun a 2-under-par 35-35=70 in the final round of the Masters to finish the week two off the winning number at 7-under 281.
Day's round was off and running with a birdie at the first and an eagle from a greenside bunker on the par-5 second. Bogeys at the sixth and ninth would drop him to 6-under, but he would go birdie-birdie-birdie on 13, 14 and 15 to take the lead at 9-under. He would then stumble down the stretch, with bogeys on 16 and 17 after missing both greens in regulation to finish alone in third. He is scheduled to play later this week at the RBC Heritage.
