Martin Kaymer polished off his first top-10 finish on the PGA TOUR since the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in February with a 2-under-par 34-34=68 in the final round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Prior to his trip to TPC Four Seasons, Kaymer's best finish in stroke play this season was a T35 at the Masters, so he's easily topped that effort. In today's round, he circled three birdies to just one bogey and landed 11 GIR while the wind tested everyone's ball-striking. At 8-under 272, he trails only Justin Bolli in the clubhouse.

Martin Kaymer is positioned for a season-best finish at the HP Byron Nelson Championship after firing a 1-under-par 34-35=69 in the third round.
The German's only top 10 in a PGA TOUR event was a T9 at the WGC-Accenture Match Play, and he hasn't finished any better than a T35 at the Masters in a stroke-play event. In his third navigation of TPC Four Seasons, he circled four birdies and squared three bogeys. Two of those four birdies dropped from outside 22 feet. He enters the final round at 6-under 204.

Martin Kaymer concludes his week at THE PLAYERS with a 3-under-par 35-34=69, finishing the week at 1-under 287.
Kaymer has struggled on the PGA TOUR in 2013, still only owning one top 30 all season. That came way back at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Everything worked pretty well for him in his final round, landing 12 GIR, splitting 10 (of 14) fairways and gaining more than a stroke on the field with his flat stick at the time of his posting. He will hope that this finally means some momentum, as he heads to the HP Byron Nelson Championship later this week.

Martin Kaymer heads to Hilton Head for his first RBC Heritage after a T35 at the Masters.
He enters riding a wave of late momentum, with birdies on each of his final five holes at Augusta National. While he’s made four (of six) cuts this season, his Masters finish is the best of any stroke play event he’s played on the 2013 PGA TOUR. Needless to say, his rookie year on TOUR could use a bit of a spark.
