Stewart Cink makes the familiar trek to TPC Sawgrass for his 16th PLAYERS.
Cink has made the cut in 10 of his 15 prior trips, with a T3 in 2007 his lone top-10 finish. It's been a bit of a bounce-back year for the veteran, with his five top 25s one better than his 2012 tally and his pair of top-10 finishes are two better than last year. Add to that, he's made the cut in his last seven starts dating back to the Northern Trust Open.

Stewart Cink entered the final round of the Shell Houston Open tied for the lead, but settled for a tie for sixth after a 2-under-par 36-34=70 only moved him to 13-under 275.
Cink had a hard time getting the putts to drop early, finally circling his first birdie at the par-4 11th from 37'5." He added a birdie at the very next hole from 4'11" and a third, and final, birdie on the par-5 15th from 18'7" before giving back his only stroke of the day on the par-4 18th. He is not in the field at the Valero Texas Open, so this concluded his Masters preparation.

Stewart Cink signed for a 4-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round of the Shell Houston Open to join his playing partner Bill Haas in the lead at 11-under 205.
Cink circled five birdies to just one bogey in his Saturday stroll around Redstone GC. Three of his birdies dropped from outside nine feet, while the others were of the tap-in variety. His only bogey came at the par-3 14th, after pulling his tee shot into a greenside bunker. He last won a tournament at the 2009 Open Championship when he famously bested Tom Watson in the playoff at Turnberry. Should he win, it would be lucky number seven on the PGA TOUR.

Stewart Cink is bogey-free, 7-under-par 71-66=137 through 36 holes of the Shell Houston Open.
Whoa. This is vintage. He's gone 5-for-5 in scrambling at Redstone and picked off seven birdies. Today's sextet of par breakers included a 22-footer at the sixth hole and 13-footer at 13. He's three strokes back of the overnight lead entering the weekend.
