Kris Blanks received positive news regarding what was discovered during his surgery on Thursday, Feb. 28.
In fact, it was what the surgeon didn't find that may have Blanks back inside the ropes sooner than later. No structural damage or tear in any of the soft tissue in Blanks' left shoulder was evident. Dr. Frank Cook cleaned out scar tissue and smoothed down part of a bone to give the golfer more mobility. Blanks may even participate in the Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Pro-Am on April 15 if he's feeling up to it. "All in all it’s as good as can be expected, now we just have to strengthen it back up and get ready to go," Blanks said. "It’s just a matter of rehab and recovery, but it will take three or four months until I’m back out there." We'll earmark summertime as a possibility for now. Whenever he returns, Blanks will have three starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $257,451 and retain status.
