Marc Leishman painted a bogey-free 5-under-par 33-32=65 in the second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii to reach the midpoint at 7-under 133, up 45 spots on the live leaderboard to T7.
The 32-year-old was one (of three) TOUR players to sign with Callaway in 2016 joining Hall of Famer Tom Watson and Jason Gore. In his first 36 holes since the switch from Titleist, he's just 14 (of 28) in fairways and 27/36 in greens in regulation, T78 and T29, respectively, at last check. Further, the Aussie has circled but six birdies and one eagle, but has squared just one bogey, including today's blemish-free loop. Friday's stroll, his 26th career at Waialae CC, was sleepwalking at 2-under thru 14 holes, his only par breaker an 18'3" eagle at the par-5 ninth. However, he birdied three of his final four holes, including a chip-in birdie-3 from just off the green at the 15th to get his run to the finish started. Jan 15 - 7:08 PM
