Peter Senior is not listed in the published field of next week's World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.
Senior qualified for the tournament when he led the 2012 Australasian Tour in earnings. (The top two were exempt. No. 2 Michael Hendry is in the field at Doral.) The 53-year-old Aussie ranks 41st on the Champions Tour money list.

In what was one of the most challenging finales to a golf tournament anywhere in recent memory, 53-year-old Peter Senior emerged with the victory at the Emirates Australian Open.
It was the kind of breezy day that led to nine scores in the 80s, including an 82 by 54-hole leader, John Senden (who faded to finish T18). Only six golfers managed to break par, led by none other than Tom Waton's 3-under 69. But it was another senior, literally by surname, that held firm with a closing, even-par 37-35=72 to post 4-under 284, clipping Brendan Jones (71) by one and Cameron Percy (73) by two. In the process, the native of Queensland became the oldest winner of this tournament. "It was probably one of the toughest days I've ever seen on a golf course," Senior said. "I really thought these days were over but golf is a funny game. The key to today's round was that I never put any pressure on myself. If the conditions had been better the better players would have won, but these are conditions I thrive in, where I just battle it out. As short as I am, I don't feel the wind as much as others."

Peter Senior was the odd man out of a 3-for-2 playoff at the International Final Qualifying for the British Open at Kingston Heath in Melbourne, Australia.
Senior completed the 36-hole qualifier in 1-under-par 71-72=143. He parred the first playoff hole -- No. 7 at Kingston Heath -- but was eliminated as Nicholas Cullen (70-73) and Ashley Hall (72-71) recorded birdies. The duo will join medalist Aaron Townsend (70-70=140) at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in July. All three will be making their debuts in a major. As for Senior, his goal to play in the British in five decades will have to wait another year. The 52-year-old Australian made his first appearance in the major in 1979; he last competed in 2010 and finished T60. Other notables that failed to qualify amid severe weather and extremely strong winds include Peter Lonard (145), James Nitties (146), Scott Laycock (148), Alistair Presnell (149), Craig Parry (153) and Jin Jeong (153). The next IFQ will be held in South Africa on Jan. 18-19.

Peter Senior posted a final round of 1-under-par 71 and won the Australian PGA on the second hole of a playoff with Geoff Ogilvy.
The final round resumed on Monday morning and Geoff Ogilvy was able to take the clubhouse lead with an aggregate score of 12-under-par. Fellow Australian Andre Stoltz had a shot to force a playoff, but he bogeyed the difficult par-4 18th after finding the water off the tee. Moments later, Peter Senior, who was in the last group of the day, was able to convert a clutch birdie-putt at the final hole to create a sudden-death playoff with Ogilvy. The playoff was at the pivotal 18th and both players parred the hole the first time around, however on the second time on the hole Ogilvy uncharacteristically three-putt bogeyed the hole, which left Senior with the title. The victory is the third career Australian PGA championship for Senior and the 51-year-old becomes the oldest player to ever win the title.
