Kevin Kisner has been added to the published field of this week's Shell Houston Open.
Kisner was the fifth alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry when Alex Cejka withdrew this afternoon. The PGA TOUR sophomore out o the University of Georgia has cashed in three of his seven starts this year, including a season-best T25 in Puerto Rico. He missed the cut on the number in his debut at last year's SHO.

Kevin Kisner spun a bogey-free, 4-under-par 33-35=68 in his opening round of the Puerto Rico Open to finish one stroke off the clubhouse lead.
Kisner has shown flashes in his second year on TOUR but hasn't illustrated any consistency, with zero top 50 among two paydays in six starts. Today was obviously a highlight. He split 11 (of 14) fairways and hit 14 greens en route to four birdies, just one of which was on a par 5.

Kevin Kisner emerged from a four-man playoff this morning for the final berth at this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open.
After carding a 5-under-par 35-32=67 on Monday, Kisner was one of four to return to McCormick Ranch Golf Club’s Pine Course today to battle it out for the final exemption into the field of 132 on Thursday. After Jason Gore (34-33) and Mark Anderson (36-31) were eliminated, Kisner eventually bounced Billy Horschel (32-35) on the sixth playoff hole with a birdie. Troy Kelly (35-31=66) and Aaron Watkins (33-33=66) shared medalist honors. Notables that failed to qualify include William McGirt (68), Steve Allan (68), Matt Every (69), Edward Loar (69), Richard H. Lee (70), Kirk Triplett (70), Rich Beem (70), Brian Harman (71), Charlie Beljan (71), Jarrod Lyle (72), Marco Dawson (72), Daniel Summerhays (72), Paul Stankowski (72), Eric Axley (72), Kyle Thompson (73), Russell Knox (73), Duffy Waldorf (73), Colt Knost (73), Zack Miller (73), Parker McLachlin (73), Marc Turnesa (74), Mark Hensby (74), Ted Purdy (74), Nathan Green (75), Tom Purtzer (75), Woody Austin (76) and Andrew Magee (79).

Kevin Kisner signed for a 3-over-par 37-36=73 following his opening round of the Sony Open in Hawaii.
The PGA TOUR sophomore was in our crosshairs today due to a fractured foot he sustained while jogging in December. Alas, he didn't necessarily convince us that he's feeling OK. Kisner opened double bogey-bogey-bogey before trading four birdies with three more bogeys the rest of the way. If there was a positive, it was that he drilled home birdies of 36'4" and 36'0" at the seventh and 10th holes, respectively. His strength is with his 14th club.
