Scott Jamieson overcame the Sunday blues to card level-par 34-38=72 in the final lap of the Hero Indian Open at DLF Golf & CC, good for T3 on 2-under 286, but some eight shots back of the winner S.S.P. Chawrasia.
Last time out in the Tshwane Open Jamieson held the 54-hole lead only to post a 78 which saw him drop to T22 and it was no one-off in the 2017 season. It may have opened with a T4 in the Alfred Dunhill Championship, where a final round 69 saw him make progress, but thereafter his last round scores were 74, 77 and 76 prior to that effort in Tshwane. Whilst he didn't break 70 Sunday, his level-par score was worth that on a brutally tricked-up course. The front nine was rollercoaster, with red numbers at 3, 5, 7 and 8. He squared blue at 6 and 9, then added another at No. 10. A fourth came at the 15th, but he closed out the tough final stretch with three pars to secure the second top five finish of the season which will move him into the top 60 on the Race to Dubai.
