With a 3-under-par 33-36=69 in his final round of the Avantha Masters, Jbe' Kruger recorded a two-stroke victory, his first on the European Tour.
The 25-year-old South African slept on a one-stroke lead at DLF Golf and Country Club after a bogey-free third-round 66 that included a pair of eagles. He was bogey-free 4-under through 16 today and in possession of a three-stroke margin when he bogeyed the par-4 17th. The buffer proved useful in holding off co-runners-up Marcel Siem and Jorge Campillo. Kruger finished at 14-under 274. "I felt that victory was inevitable when I got to the 14th hole," said the champ. "I knew that I had a good chance as I had a comfortable three-shot cushion then.
