Ken Duke carved out an even-par 36-36=72 in the final round of THE PLAYERS to conclude his seventh appearance on 10-under 278, down one spot into a four-way T3, five shy of champion and overnight leader Jason Day.
The 495th-ranked player in the world entering the week bags his first top 10 of the season in his 10th start. Okay, it's actually his first top-30 finish of the season with a previous best of T37 at The Honda Classic. It's easily his best at TPC Sawgrass as well, supplanting T37 on debut in 2007. The 47-year-old began his final frame on 10-under (T2), four back. He split nine (of 14) fairways and mustered 11 greens in regulation and 1.727 putts per GIR. The Palm City, Florida, resident bogeyed holes 1, 8, 10 and 15, three on failed scrambles and 3-putting the par-4 10th from 30'4". He erased the damage with four birdies on 2, 5, 11 and 16, three of which were of the bounce-back variety and adding a 15-footer at the par-4 fifth for his long of the day. It's his best finish on TOUR since his lone win at the 2013 Travelers. May 15 - 7:34 PM
