Mike Weir spun a 1-under-par 69 in the final round of the U.S. Open to finish the tournament at 12-over 292.
It's a bit laughable to mention he's the clubhouse leader, as the leaders are yet to tee it up, but Weir holds the top seat at the moment none the less. Considering he's made just six of 18 cuts in 2013, with a T33 at the HP Byron Nelson the best, he will walk out of Merion with one of his best finish of the season in tow.

Mike Weir has gained entry into this week's U.S. Open.
Weir was the first alternate from the Columbus, Ohio, sectional qualifier. He was one of four to be eliminated in an 11-way playoff for seven spots. The lefty has cashed in his last three starts this season, but has yet to crack a top 30. He's survived eight consecutive cuts at the U.S. Open where he last placed T80 at Pebble Beach in 2010.

Mike Weir will give it a go in his 11th HP Byron Nelson Championship this week.
Weir's 2013 has been a major struggle, with his T73 at the Wells Fargo his first payday since Pebble Beach in February. At 190th in ball-striking, there's way too much pressure on his short game and putting to be a factor. He's got three top 25s on his resume at TPC Four Seasons, but has not cracked a top 10.

Mike Weir has been removed from the published field of this week's RBC Heritage.
Weir missed the cut at the Masters by three strokes at 7-over-par 72-79=151. He admitted that he wouldn't have played last week if it weren't the Masters. In his latest
blog entry
, he wrote: "I'm scheduled to play at the RBC Heritage next week, a tournament I really enjoy. But I'll see what the doctor says and then do what's best for getting healthy again. I'm glad I played at Augusta and I don't think my ribs are any worse than they were before I came here." Continue to omit the lefty from all lineups that reward good play.
