World No. 136 Aaron Baddeley enjoyed a 4-under-par 35-33=68 in today's final round of the Valero Texas Open to finish up on 8-under 280, up seven spots to solo 5th with play still in progress. UPDATE: With play completed, Baddeley finished solo 5th, four shy of champion Kevin Chappell.
After kicking off in 69-70-73, the Aussie began on 4-under (T12), four shy of overnight co-leader Kevin Chappell but just two back of the overnight top 10. He conjured seven (of 14) fairways and 11 greens in regulation, outpacing bogey-5s at holes 5 and 9 with six birdies at 1, 2, 8, 11, 14 and 17, all from inside of six feet. The 36-year-old also dropped two par-savers from between seven and nine feet en route to 2.042 SG: Putting. This is his second top 10 of the season in 13 events joining a T10 at the CIMB Classic back in October, and he's the current leader in SG: Approach-the-Green with a cumulative 8.320. Apr 23 - 5:15 PM
