Justin Rose will be looking to add to the list of home winners of the BMW PGA Championship when he heads to the West Course at Wentworth this week.
Englishmen from the south of the country have an exceptionally strong record in this event over the last 11 years (five wins, six times runner-up) and yet Rose remains one of the bridesmaids, rather then the bride. He came closest to victory when losing a play-off to Anders Hansen exactly ten years ago. He was also tied second, four strokes back of Luke Donald, in 2012. His record pre-the big course changes of 2010 was slightly better than since so the reversion to a less American-style West Course might suit him and although he’ll be concerned he left TPC Sawgrass having signed for a final round 80, he’s more likely to focus on the second placed spot at Augusta National.
