In his final start on the PGA TOUR via a medical extension in the reshuffle category, Peter Tomasulo tied for 50th place at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Tomasulo went in the books at 3-over-par 71-73-72-75=291, good for $15,828.75. To earn a promotion to the Major Medical category, he needed no worse than a solo fourth-place finish at Quail Hollow. Therefore, he fell $343,032 short of fulfilling the terms. He also landed $86,809 below the minimum needed to secure conditional status -- a two-way T17 at worst was necessary -- so he has lost his status on the PGA TOUR and will likely play out the remainder of his season on the Web.com Tour.

Peter Tomasulo buried 21 birdies against nine bogeys at TPC Louisiana to settle into a tie for 15th place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Tomasulo posted 12-under 276. It's his sixth payday in seven starts on the PGA TOUR this season and it marks his first top 40 since the 2011 Reno-Tahoe Open. The $102,300.00 paycheck is his largest in 52 career starts on the circuit. It leaves him with one start on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $358,860 and a promotion to the Major Medical category. He's scheduled to compete in this week's Wells Fargo Championship, which carries a purse of $6.7 million. Tomasulo can secure his nut with no worse than a two-way T3 (worth $388,600). (A solo fourth pays just $321,600.) Short of that, he would secure conditional status by pocketing $102,637, which a two-way T17 ($103,850) would achieve. (A solo 18th-place finish would be worth just $100,500.) Should Tomasulo fail on his second initiative, he will lose his status since he's a non-winner.

Peter Tomasulo tied for 61st place at the Valero Texas Open, earning $13,082.00.
After sharing the 18-hole lead with a 5-under-par 67, Tomasulo sat four strokes adrift at the midpoint at 4-under 140. He'd go on to card rounds of 77 and 74 on the weekend. This leaves him with two starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to bank $461,160 and earn a promotion to the Major Medical category. He's also $204,937 short of securing conditional status as a safety net. With 94 eligible moving on to the Masters, Tomasulo will instead take his talents to Midland, Tex. for this week's WNB Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour where he ranks 68th on the money list.

Overnight co-leader Peter Tomasulo followed his opening 67 with a 1-over-par 35-38=73 in his second round, arriving at the midpoint in 4-under 140, two strokes adrift of the 36-hole clubhouse co-leaders.
This was a forgettable effort by Tomasulo, who simply cannot afford another if he's going to meet the terms of his medical extension. He holed only one birdie of 12 opportunities today, and that a mere four-footer at the par-4 12th hole. He missed five putts from inside nine feet, four of which for birdie. His longest conversion was a par save from 11'1" at the first hole, hit 10th of the round.
