Edoardo Molinari accelerated his plan to get healthy, scheduling surgery on his wrist for today.
When we last checked in on the Italian in February, he was hoping to wait until fall to undergo surgery. However, in recent weeks, he led on via Twitter that surgery was imminent. On June 1, he wrote that the Nordea Masters (where he tied for 30th) might be his last event of the summer. Indeed, it was. On June 9, he tweeted: "Last round of the summer for me today. Wrist surgery coming in 2 weeks and I'll be fit and ready to go by the end September!" Today he wrote: "Nice wake up after the surgery, watching Federer putting up a masterclass in the first round of Wimbledon! Everything went well by the way!"
