Cole Hamels allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings to beat the Twins on Wednesday.
He uncharacteristically struck out just one batter while walking three and giving up seven base hits. One of those hits was a two-run tater by designated hitter Eduardo Escobar. Hamels moves to 2-0 with a 3.03 ERA through five starts. Despite his early success his strikeout rate has dropped considerably and now barely exceeds his walk rate. He has 15 strikeouts and 12 walks in 32 2/3 innings. Apr 27 - 1:04 AM
