Rockies signed RHP Brian Anderson to a minor league contract.
Anderson, a converted outfielder, was in camp with the Dodgers this spring. The 30-year-old had a 1.17 ERA and 9/1 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings with the Yankees' Double-A affiliate last year before getting hurt in May and eventually given his release.

Yankees released RHP Brian Anderson.
Anderson, a converted outfielder, signed a minor league contract with the Yankees over the winter. He had a 1.17 ERA and 9/1 K/BB ratio over his first 7 2/3 innings with Double-A Trenton prior to going on the disabled list in early May. He's still only 29 years old, so it will be interesting to see what he does next.

Converted outfielder Brian Anderson gave up three runs and five hits in two-thirds of an inning Sunday against the Astros.
It looks like Anderson will be one of the Yankees' early cuts. He figures to be a part of the Double-A Trenton pen at the start of the season.

Yankees signed RHP Brian Anderson to a minor league deal.
Anderson made the switch from outfielder to pitcher this past season and fared well in the conversion in his 17 2/3 innings, posting a 2.08 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with a 17/5 K/BB ratio over three different levels in the minors. He'll be 29 in March, so expect the Yankees to push him to see if he can make an immediate impact.

Michael Cuddyer (neck) will play two games in extended spring training this week and is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday.
Cuddyer will fly to Arizona on Monday night and play in games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, he should be ready to go as soon as he's eligible on Friday. The 34-year-old has been sidelined since May 8 with a bulging disc in his neck.

Jeff Francis (groin) will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.
It will be the first time he's thrown from the bump since landing on the disabled list. Francis' groin isn't fully healed, but he shouldn't be out too much longer as long as he continues to progress. Whether he'll have a rotation spot once healthy remains to be seen.

Edwar Cabrera (left shoulder impingement) threw a 45-pitch bullpen session last month.
We've read nothing further regarding Cabrera, which probably means he isn't close to a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old lefty was placed on the 60-day disabled list in February. He's eligible for activation, but not healthy enough to pitch. Cabrera ranked as Colorado's ninth best prospect by MLB.com this offseason.

Rafael Betancourt (groin) will not require a trip to the disabled list.
Betancourt left Tuesday's game with a tight right groin, but it's merely some scar tissue from a previous injury. He was given anti-inflammatory medication and could be back in there as soon as Friday. Rex Brothers and Wilton Lopez could be in the mix for save chances until he's ready to go, but it doesn't sound like he'll have a lengthy absence.
