Nelson Cruz hit a three-run homer Wednesday, boosting his RBI total to 32.
Cruz is tied for fourth in the AL with 10 homers and he's sixth in RBI. Partly because he missed time in his better years, Cruz has never driven in more than 90 runs. That's the total he finished with in a down 2012 season. The difference was that he played in 159 games last year after never topping 128 previously.

Nelson Cruz launched his sixth home run of 2013 in the Rangers' win over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Cruz has been hot lately, and he drove in his 20th run of April with the solo shot Tuesday. The outfielder is now hitting .306 with an .899 OPS. The batting average likely won't last, but the power is legit.

Nelson Cruz went 3-for-4 and homered for the third time in four games Wednesday against the Angels.
Cruz's homer was a three-run shot off David Carpenter. He's driven in 11 runs in four games and totaling six RBI in his first 17 games.

Nelson Cruz went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 11-3 win over Seattle.
Cruz put Aaron Harang out of his misery with a grand slam in the fifth inning and Adrian Beltre would later add a two-run shot for insurance. After struggling for most of the season, the Rangers finally put together an offensive showing in their sweep of the Mariners. Cruz improved his batting line to 290/.319/.478 over 18 games.

It's not known which minor league affiliate he'll play with, but it should be enough to ensure he'll be activated on Tuesday. The 36-year-old backstop has been sidelined since May 5 with a strained right oblique.

The Rangers could place Ian Kinsler (ribs) on the disabled list.
He will have to show that his sore ribs will allow him to swing a bat soon, otherwise the club will put him on the DL and call up Jurickson Profar. Kinsler was originally hurt last Tuesday when he was hit with a ball while stealing a base and aggravated the ailment Thursday while getting out of the way of a pitch.

Matt Harrison recently had a setback with his back that required an additional surgery on Wednesday.
Harrison underwent an operation on April 23 to repair a herniated disk in his lower back but began feeling additional discomfort this week, necessitating another procedure. According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Rangers are "operating under the assumption that Harrison will pitch again this season, but he will be out for at least three months." In other words, we won't see him again until August at the earliest, and it seems like there's a good chance it will be longer than that.

Alexi Ogando (biceps) underwent an MRI which revealed no structural damage.
Ogando was placed on the disabled list on Thursday with biceps tendinitis after he felt some pain during Wednesday's start against the Athletics. It's an encouraging sign that no more serious damage was found, and his stay on the DL should be a short one. Josh Lindblom is expected to hold his place in the rotation while he's sidelined.

Colby Lewis (elbow) is expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation in the first week of June.
After dealing with a minor bout of triceps tendinitis, Lewis will resume his rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Monday. He'll need two additional outings after that before being activated. The right-hander is a nice roster stash in fantasy leagues if you have room.

Feliz's rehab from Tommy John surgery is going fine, although it's not yet been announced when he'll be ready to throw off a mound. We expect him to return to a major league mound late in the summer.

Joakim Soria (elbow) will be shut down for 2-3 weeks with a strained pectoral muscle and is now not expected to return until around July 1.
A tough break for the Rangers, as Soria had been slated to join the Rangers' bullpen as soon as late next month. The good news is that his surgically-repaired elbow is fine. The Rangers will continue to use a host of players to set up for Joe Nathan.
