Mark Grace has been named the Diamondbacks' assistant hitting coach.
Turner Ward will remain the primary hitting coach. Grace played for the D'Backs from 2001-2003 and became a broadcaster for the team shortly after announcing his retirement. He was dismissed from that position in 2012 after his second DUI arrest, but the 50-year-old former three-time All-Star has apparently cleaned up his act. The Diamondbacks hired former A's bench coach Chip Hale to become their new manager earlier this week, and he's now building his staff with the help of executives Dave Stewart and Tony La Russa.
