Ray latched on with the A's earlier this month after he was given his release by the Indians, but he's on the move again after being knocked around for four runs on four hits and six walks over just six innings. The 30-year-old right-hander used the out-clause in his contract.

Athletics signed RHP Chris Ray.
Rays was cut loose by the Indians last week after posting a 2.75 ERA and 30/17 K/BB ratio over 36 Triple-A innings. He's been assigned to Triple-A Sacramento.

Indians released RHP Chris Ray.
The move clears a spot for Nick Hagadone on the Triple-A roster. Ray, 30, will look to latch on elsewhere as organizational depth.

Indians signed RHP Chris Ray to a minor league contract.
He also gets a spring training invite. Ray, who turned 30 on Thursday, posted a 4.68 ERA and 22/12 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings with the Mariners last season before being released in mid-August. He'll try to win a spot in the bullpen.

It's a procedural move to open up a 40-man roster spot. Sizemore underwent his second major knee surgery in two years last week and will not play this season.

Hiroyuki Nakajima (hamstring) received a day off from his rehab assignment on Saturday but will play in each of the next three games with Triple-A Sacramento.
Nakajima has appeared in four games thus far with Sacramento, going 3-for-15 (.200) with a double and a pair of RBI. He's expected to need a lengthy rehab assignment before joining the Athletics, and isn't a lock to receive significant playing time once he is activated.

Josh Reddick (wrist) has been taking some dry swings but is not ready to take batting practice yet.
Reddick is eligible to return from the disabled list on Wednesday, but that's not going to happen. It's possible the outfielder might eventually require surgery, but that point hasn't been reached yet. A timetable for his return remains up in the air.

Brett Anderson was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture of his right foot and will be shut down for four weeks.
Rough news for Anderson, who just can't seem to stay healthy. The 25-year-old southpaw is set to be reevaluated after four weeks, so his actual return to the Athletics likely won't be until around the early part of July. Dan Straily is filling his spot in the rotation for now, but the A's could turn to Sonny Gray if he continues to struggle.
