According to Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com, an autopsy report suggests that Jose Lima likely died of heart failure.
His body tested positive for for moderate levels of alcohol, however there were no traces of illegal substances in his system. "Now Jose will be able to rest in peace," Lima's widow Dorca Astacio told Rojas. "Those of us who loved Jose have not only suffered his death, but also the quick judgments lashed out by many people about the supposed reasons for his death." Lima was found dead in his home on May 23. He was 37 years old.

ESPNDeportes reports that former major leaguer Jose Lima has died of a massive heart attack at his home in Los Angeles.
Lima played for six major league teams over the course of his 13-year career. His career record was 89-102 with a 5.26 ERA and a WHIP of 1.38. He was 37 years old.

Free agent Jose Lima reportedly is close to signing with the Kia Tigers of Korea.
The 35-year-old Lima last pitched in the majors with the Mets in July 2006. He went 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 10 starts in the Dominican Winter League.

Mets designated RHP Jose Lima for assignment.
Maybe this isn't the end of Lima's career in the majors, but it's doubtful that he'll find himself in a Mets uniform ever again. Even if the club gets desperate again, there are some lesser names in Double- and Triple-A more worthy of the opportunity.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Collin McHugh was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the vacant bullpen spot. Atchison has been shut down for a week and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. It's not clear when he might return.
