Marlins general manager Dan Jennings will transition from the front office to the dugout to replace recently-fired skipper Mike Redmond.
Redmond was let go on Sunday afternoon, just minutes after the Braves finished off a three-game sweep of the Marlins in Miami. Bench coach Rob Leary also got canned, and advance scout Mike Goff is going to move from the front office to the dugout with Jennings to fill that spot. It's all very odd, but we've come to expect odd things from Jeffrey Loria's teams. Jennings has zero managerial experience at the professional level. He did coach baseball at Davidson High School in Mobile, Alabama back in the '80s. Mike Hill and Mike Berger will now run the Marlins' front office. May 18 - 8:56 AM
