Moseley was limited to just one major league start on the season before undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder. The 30-year-old right-hander should return at some point in the 2013 season.

Padres transferred RHP Dustin Moseley from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for Dale Thayer on the 40-man roster. Moseley underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder and will likely be out until some point during the 2013 season.

Dustin Moseley could have surgery on his right shoulder May 2 in New York.
Moseley confirmed Friday that he has a tear to the capsule as well as the labrum in his right shoulder. He's scheduled to fly to New York next weekend and will meet with Dr. David Altchek on April 30. Assuming Moseley goes ahead with the surgery, he will miss the rest of the season and likely a big chunk of the 2013 campaign, as well.

Yasmani Grandal will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Tucson.
Grandal is still serving his 50-game suspension for a positive PED test, but he is allowed to begin a 10-game minor league assignment. The 24-year-old backstop is eligible to join the Padres on May 28 and may split playing time with Nick Hundley upon his return.

Forsythe has been taking batting practice for a week with no issues and is ready to take the next step. He's been out all season with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, so he'll need plenty of rehab at-bats before returning.

Cameron Maybin (wrist) went 1-for-3 with a single in his first rehab game Friday with Triple-A Tucson.
Maybin is expected to need around 30 rehab at-bats, so he's on track to return sometime next week. The 26-year-old outfielder has been out since April 15 with a right wrist impingement.

Clayton Richard (illness) will likely be activated from the disabled list on Monday.
"He came out of his bullpen fine," Padres manager Bud Black said. "It looks as if Clayton is tracking toward Monday." Richard has been out since May 5 with an intestinal virus. He made two minor league starts and threw a bullpen session Friday at Chase Field, and he seems to be back in good health. The left-hander had a rough start to the season, as he sits at 0-4 with an 8.54 ERA through six starts.

Cory Luebke (elbow) has had his throwing program stopped for the second time this year in his attempt to return from Tommy John surgery.
Luebke was shut down in early March before resuming sessions of catch on April 1, and he had progressed to throwing off a mound before this latest setback. Obviously none of this bodes well for his mission to return to live major league games by the All-Star break.

Wieland, currently on the 60-day disabled list, is nine months removed from Tommy John surgery and will continued to be moved along slowly. If he can avoid setbacks, Wieland should be game-ready sometime after the All-Star break.

Kelly will undergo Tommy John surgery during the first week of April. Obviously, he won't be making any contribution this season.
