Shin-Soo Choo will bat second for the first time this season in Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Choo has been a hit out of the leadoff spot this season, but Reds manager Dusty Baker will give Derrick Robinson a try there Wednesday. The usual No. 2 hitter, Zack Cozart, is getting the day off Wednesday, so it's likely just a one-game thing.

Shin-Soo Choo had an RBI single and a walk in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.
Choo was red-hot in April, but he's hitting just .227 since the start of May. The good news is that he continues to get on base at a ridiculous pace. After Friday night, his on-base percentage is up to .432 for the year. Only Miguel Cabrera and teammate Joey Votto have been better.

That's a bit earlier than Ludwick previously estimated. However, he still thinks that he will not be ready to return for another two months. Most fantasy owners can afford to move on at this point.

Chris Heisey (hamstring) resumed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday and went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored.
Heisey served as the designated hitter. The 28-year-old aggravated his hamstring injury during his first attempt at a rehab assignment last month, so the Reds figures to be extra cautious this time around. Still, a return before the end of the month appears realistic if he can avoid setbacks.

Broxton has been idle since being placed on the disabled list June 14 with a right elbow flexor strain. "He’s been working on strengthening it," trainer Paul Lessard said Wednesday. "He finally has his full range of motion back. We wanted to get it flushed out." There is no timetable for the right-hander's return.
