Miller had been designated for assignment on Friday, but he passed through waivers and will remain in the organization. He'll give the Reds depth at Triple-A.

Miller picked up two hits in 16 at-bats while up with the big club for a couple weeks. He should have no problem clearing waivers and remaining in the organization.

Reds purchased the contract of C Corky Miller from Triple-A Louisville.
Miller is taking the roster spot of Ryan Hanigan, who was placed on the disabled list with a strained oblique. Miller will serve as the primary backup to Devin Mesoraco.

Miller hasn't appeared in the major leagues since 2010, when he batted .243/.282/.392 in 32 games. He's likely to spend the entire 2013 season at Triple-A Louisville.

That's a bit earlier than Ludwick previously estimated. However, he still thinks that he will not be ready to return for another two months. Most fantasy owners can afford to move on at this point.

Chris Heisey (hamstring) resumed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday and went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored.
Heisey served as the designated hitter. The 28-year-old aggravated his hamstring injury during his first attempt at a rehab assignment last month, so the Reds figures to be extra cautious this time around. Still, a return before the end of the month appears realistic if he can avoid setbacks.

Broxton has been idle since being placed on the disabled list June 14 with a right elbow flexor strain. "He’s been working on strengthening it," trainer Paul Lessard said Wednesday. "He finally has his full range of motion back. We wanted to get it flushed out." There is no timetable for the right-hander's return.
