Aaron Harang tossed seven shutout innings in an 8-1 win over the Padres on Thursday night.
Harang gave up just four hits against his former team while fanning six and walking none. The strong outing improves his ERA to 3.83 ERA on the year. He should have value in certain matchups for those in mixed leagues, but a start on the road against the Diamondbacks next week isn't one of them.
May 18 - 1:15 AM
Aaron Harang limited the Rockies to one run and four hits over eight innings in a victory Saturday.
Harang's big strikeouts numbers are gone -- he fanned just two batters for the second consecutive start tonight -- but he's turned in four quality starts in his last five outings, lowering his ERA from 5.91 to 4.46 in the process. He should be a fine play in mixed leagues next week when he returns to San Diego to take on the Padres.
May 12 - 11:51 PM
Aaron Harang tossed six innings of two-run ball as part of a no-decision against the Cubs Sunday.
Harang's best start of the season wasn't good enough to get the win as Javy Guerra blew his third save of the season. Furthermore, Harang managed to strike out just two and gave up seven hits. He'll take a 5.24 ERA into next week's home start against the Rockies.
May 6 - 9:46 PM
Aaron Harang was tagged for five runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rockies on Monday night.
Harang struck out five and walked one in the losing effort. It was the first time he failed to complete six innings since his season debut. The veteran right-hander has a matchup against the light-hitting Cubs at Wrigley Field this weekend, but with a 5.72 ERA in five starts, we would stay clear in mixed leagues.

Mark Ellis (leg) was released from the hospital Thursday and has begun ankle exercises.
Ellis injured his left leg when he was upended by Cardinals' infielder Tyler Greene last Friday. He underwent an emergency fasciotomy on Saturday to relieve the pressure, a procedure which likely saved his leg. He's expected to miss around six weeks depending upon the diagnosis of his knee and ankle.

Juan Uribe (wrist) has already been cleared to resume baseball-related activities.
Uribe was placed on the 15-day disabled list just one week ago with soreness in his left wrist. An MRI taken Sunday showed no structural damage and he's expected to begin full workouts Monday. The veteran infielder should be back in action by late May or early June.

Jerry Hairston Jr.
D.L.
Jerry Hairston Jr. (hamstring) is scheduled to begin playing in extended spring training games Monday.
Hairston will play in games Monday and Tuesday before being re-evaluated for possible activation Wednesday. The veteran infielder has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 7 with a strained left hamstring.

D.L.
Juan Rivera (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment in the next few days.
Rivera was told earlier this month that his ruptured left hamstring tendon would need around two months of rehab. But he's well ahead of schedule and could return to the Dodgers' starting lineup within four weeks of the initial injury. The 33-year-old outfielder was hitting .247/.276/.358 with two home runs and 13 RBI.

Matt Kemp (hamstring) is confident that he'll return to the field next week.
He's eligible to be activated on May 29 and is aiming to do just that. Kemp was given a platelet rich plasma injection Wednesday to help speed up the healing of his strained left hamstring and has reported steady progress to this point.

Dodgers placed RHP Rubby De La Rosa on the 60-day disabled list with an elbow injury.
He was cleared to make room for the newly-claimed Matt Angle on the 40-man roster. De La Rosa underwent Tommy John surgery last August and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2012 season.

Matt Guerrier felt lingering discomfort in his throwing elbow during a bullpen session Wednesday.
"It's very frustrating, so up and down and back and forth," Guerrier told MLB.com. "It feels good one day, the next day I can't play catch." He's planning to shut himself down until the pain is gone completely. The setup man seems unlikely to return to the Dodgers 'pen before July.

Blake Hawksworth (elbow) is scheduled to make an appearance Thursday in an intrasquad game.
It will be his first taste of live action since undergoing surgery in January to remove bone spur and scar tissue from his throwing elbow. Hawksworth later developed an infection, which required a second procedure. The 29-year-old remains out indefinitely.
