Marlins signed C Miguel Olivo.

Olivo was released earlier Thursday by the Reds after he failed to crack their Opening Day roster, but he landed on his feet quickly as the backup in Miami behind Rob Brantly, at least until Jeff Mathis returns. The Marlins signed him to a 45-day waiver, so he can be released during that time period without being owed the remainder of his $800,000 salary. Olivo batted .222/.239/.381 with 12 home runs and 29 RBI in 87 games for the Mariners last season. Mar 28 - 6:06 PM

	3	Joe Mahoney D.L. Joe Mahoney (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter this week. Mahoney has been out since late April with a right hamstring strain.
