Jeremy Guthrie couldn't make it out of the fourth inning in Wednesday's World Series Game 7, exiting after allowing three runs over 3 1/3 innings in the loss.
Guthrie loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the second inning, prompting manager Ned Yost to get a reliever up, but after Guthrie escaped with just a couple of sacrifice flies Yost left him in. That was until the fourth, when he left runners on first and third with one out. Reliever Kelvin Herrera allowed an RBI single to the next batter, charging Guthrie with a third run and saddling him with the loss. He didn't walk a batter while striking out three. Guthrie will be back in KC next season for the final year of his three-year contract signed after the 2012 season. Oct 29 - 11:30 PM
