He'll be re-evaluated on Wednesday before the Phillies determine how much time he might miss. If it's an oblique issue that Utley is dealing with, obviously there's a good chance it could lead to a trip to the disabled list. Freddy Galvis is taking his spot at second base Tuesday.

He's likely just getting a routine day of rest. Kevin Frandsen will fill in at second base.

Chase Utley finished 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI against the Giants on Tuesday.
It was the first multi-RBI game for Utley since April 15. He got off to a really hot start last month, but his OPS had actually fallen under .800 before his nice game tonight.

Chase Utley tallied one of the Phillies three solo homers off Ricky Nolasco on Friday, leading to a 4-1 victory over the Marlins.
The 34-year-old second sacker has looked like the player of old to this point of the season, hitting .275/.325/.514 with six homers, 21 RBI and four stolen bases. While durability has certainly been a concern over the years, he remains one of the elite options at his position while he's on the field.

Phillies placed C Carlos Ruiz on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 20, with a right hamstring strain.
Ruiz was diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain of his hamstring and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. It's a tough blow for the Phillies, who just got Ruiz back from his suspension less than one month ago. Erik Kratz and Humberto Quintero will fill in behind the plate once again.

Roy Halladay had surgery on Wednesday to remove a bone spur in his shoulder and repair his torn rotator cuff.
Halladay is hoping to resume throwing in 6-8 weeks and will try to make it back before the end of the 2013 season. The veteran righty had an 8.65 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 35/17 K/BB ratio over his first 34 1/3 innings this season. He can be dropped in all non-keeper leagues.

John Lannan (quad) threw a bullpen session on Saturday afternoon in Clearwater, Florida.
Lannan will throw off a mound again on Monday and should then progress to simulated games. If all goes well, he will join the Phillies at some point in early June. He's been on the disabled list since April 18 with a quad strain.
