Chris Capuano couldn't make it out of the fourth inning in his first start of the season, allowing four runs over three innings against the Royals on Sunday.
Making his first start of the season after recovering from a spring quad injury, Capuano was understandably rusty. He struck out four and walked two in the contest, but ran into trouble to start the fourth inning, when he walked the first two batters before allowing back-to-back RBI singles by Kendrys Morales and Salvador Perez. Both runners would score after Capuano exited the game. Perez also dinged him for a solo home run in the second inning. It might take a start or two for Capuano to shake off the rust, but he holds value in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed leagues, as he posted a 4.25 ERA and 55/19 K/BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings (12 starts) for the Yankees last season. He'll get his first home start of the season when he takes on the Rangers later this week. May 17 - 5:18 PM
