Heath Bell pitched around a leadoff double by Jordan Pacheco to record his seventh save of the season on Tuesday night against the Rockies.
That's four straight chances that Bell has converted since retaking his job. His velocity remains down and he's not generating many strikeouts, but Bell appears to have the full support of manager Ozzie Guillen.

Heath Bell pitched around an error to convert his sixth save of the season in Monday's win over the Rockies.
Bell needed just 13 pitches to get through the inning despite an error behind him, as he got Troy Tulowitzki to ground into a double-play and Todd Helton to line out. He's now converted three straight opportunities since regaining his closer job, but Bell is still not striking anyone out and is far from a safe bet in the ninth inning.

Heath Bell got rocked in a non-save situation Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks, but inexplicably picked up the win in Miami's 8-4 triumph over the Mets.
Luckily for Bell, Frank Francisco was even worse at his ninth-inning duties this afternoon. Called on to hold the line in a 2-2 game, Bell set the tone for his latest disaster by serving up a one-out double to Daniel Murphy. In Bell's
slight
defense, one of his walks was intentional, but it was still an indefensible outing for Miami's $27 million stopper. It's anyone's guess as to whether manager Ozzie Guillen will stick with his Friday pledge to return Bell to closing duties, but at the very least, Steve Cishek and Edward Mujica should remain owned in all formats.

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said Friday that he is ready to give the closer job back to Heath Bell.
Bell was pulled from the role last week, but given that he signed a three-year, $27 million contract with the Marlins over the winter, we figured it wouldn't be long before he got his job back. The process may have been expedited after Steve Cishek blew a save Wednesday night against the Astros, which was followed by a scoreless inning from Bell. We're not fully convinced that Bell will be effective moving forward, but those in shallow mixed leagues are probably safe to drop Cishek or Edward Mujica at this point.

Marlins placed OF Austin Kearns on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.
Kearns suffered the injury Tuesday night and hadn't made enough progress by Thursday afternoon. The Fish have called up Kevin Mattison in a corresponding move.

Emilio Bonifacio will have thumb surgery Friday and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Tough break for Bonifacio, who was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with what was originally described as a left thumb sprain. The surgery will keep him out through late June or early July. Bryan Petersen should get the majority of playing time in center field during his absence, but it's tough to get excited about him outside of NL-only fantasy leagues.

Ceda underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Tuesday and will miss the entire 2012 campaign.

According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, Marlins reliever Juan Carlos Oviedo has secured a work visa.
Oviedo received a pardon from the U.S. State Department earlier this week and is now free to travel back to Florida. He'll report to extended spring training in a couple of days to begin working out. The 28-year-old is expected to get an eight-week suspension from Major League Baseball but is finally out of the woods from a legal standpoint.
