Batting third for the first time this year, Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 and homered Thursday against the Royals.
Gordon had managed 23 RBI in 30 games as a leadoff man, so it's not like his power was going to waste up there. Still, the Royals opted to move him, largely because they've gotten lousy production out of the middle-of-the-order guys. It doesn't change Gordon's fantasy value much either way. He'll lose a few at-bats, but he will, in theory anyway, get to hit with more guys on.

Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with a home run as the Royals lost to the Orioles on Tuesday.
The Royals' leadoff man hit a game-tying two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning before the Orioles went on to win. Gordon now has 22 RBI hitting at the top of the order, and the homer was his fourth of the year. He doesn't possess ideal speed for a leadoff hitter, but he'll continue to fill the stat sheet.

Alex Gordon hit a walkoff RBI single in the Royals' 6-5 extra-innings win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Gordon smacked a long fly ball to right field with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning and Alex Rios misread it, allowing the ball to drop in. Gordon also tallied another RBI earlier in the game. He's batting .303 with a .793 OPS and 20 RBI in 27 games this season and the Royals are seven games over .500.

Alex Gordon had a single and belted an extra inning grand slam in Thursday's win over the Tigers.
George Kottaras' walk with the bases loaded technically put the Royals ahead for good in the 10th, but Gordon provided the exclamation point with the two-out slam off of Darin Downs. Gordon is now batting .337 with a pair of homers this season, and he's managed to drive in 15 runs despite hitting in the leadoff spot.

Jarrod Dyson has been diagnosed with a mild high ankle sprain and is expected to be sidelined for 2-to-4 weeks.
The 28-year-old speedster had been off to a decent start this season, hitting .268/.286/.561 with a homer, eight RBI and six stolen bases through his first 41 at-bats. While the timetable for recovery is short, any injury to the ankle is something to very closely monitor for a player such as Dyson who derives all of his fantasy value from his speed. David Lough could be worth a look in very deep leagues while Dyson is out.
