Wilkin Ramirez had a pinch-hit single in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.
Ramirez has been limited lately by a back injury, but he's been able to pinch-hit a couple times over the last week. His playing time will be limited, especially while Oswaldo Arcia is up.

He's considered day-to-day. With Ramirez and Darin Mastroianni (ankle) banged up and Josh Willingham battling the flu, the Twins are running thin on outfielders.

A corresponding move will be made Sunday morning. Ramirez's wife is having a baby this week in New York.

Darin Mastroianni will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a bone chip on his left ankle, and will be sidelined for at least six weeks.
It was a very discouraging sign when Mastroianni, who was already progressing slowly in his recovery, was uncomfortable testing his ankle during light sprints on Wednesday. He shouldn't be expected to return to the Twins until after the All-Star break and can safely be dropped in deeper mixed formats.

An MRI taken Wednesday on Tim Wood's right shoulder showed no signs of major structural damage.
Wood is headed to Minnesota for a second look. The 30-year-old has posted an ugly 8.68 ERA in 9 1/3 innings this season between High-A Fort Myers and Triple-A Rochester. He is currently on the MLB disabled list.
