Kyle Drabek managed to allow just two runs despite walking six Monday, allowing three hits and striking out three in a 6-2 win over the Rays.
It’s the fourth straight start and fifth overall where Drabek has walked at least four, but he’s managed to avoid disaster for the most part, posting a 3.27 ERA on the year. It’s a dangerous recipe for success, though, and the Rangers are unlikely to let Drabek off the hook this weekend if he’s wild again.

Kyle Drabek dominated the Yankees in Wednesday's 8-1 win, allowing just one run on three hits in seven innings of work.
He struck out five. Drabek did issue four walks, however, making tonight the third straight outing he's handed out at least four free passes. He's the owner of a 38/28 K/BB ratio through 46 1/3 innings. At some point, the walks will catch up with him. He'll bring a 3.30 ERA and 1.42 WHIP into his Monday start in Tampa Bay.

Kyle Drabek turned in a rough performance against the Twins on Friday, allowing three runs on four hits in just 4 1/3 innings of work.
Drabek struck out five and walked four in the game, struggling with his command for most of the night. The loss drops him to 2-4 on the season, though he still sports a respectable 3.66 ERA. He’ll attempt to get back on track when he takes on the Yankees at home on Wednesday.

Kyle Drabek gave up five runs in five-plus innings Saturday in a loss to the Angels.
It was Drabek's improved command that led to such a nice April, but that was missing in action tonight. He walked five and threw just 52 of his 99 pitches for strikes. He actually managed to walk Vernon Wells in back-to-back plate appearances, doubling Wells' walk total for the year. It was just one bad day, so Drabek owners shouldn't get too down. Still, it wasn't pretty at all.

Johnson is hoping to play Friday after Thursday's scheduled team off day. The 30-year-old second baseman is hitting .250/.352/.411 with eight home runs and 23 RBI in 43 games played this season.

Jesse Litsch said precautionary tests have confirmed that the infection in his shoulder is gone.
Good news. Litsch required emergency arthroscopic surgery in early March after developing an infection following an injection of platelet-rich plasma in his right shoulder. The infection somehow got worse from there, which led to the 27-year-old right-hander saying that he may never play again, but he appears to finally be making some progress.

Blue Jays placed RHP Alan Farina on the 60-day disabled list.
He was cleared to make room for the newly-signed Rick VandenHurk on the 40-man roster. Farina underwent Tommy John surgery last July and is unlikely to pitch in a game until later this summer. The 25-year-old could be a useful bullpen piece in the long term.
