Carlos Gomez went 2-for-6 with an RBI double and a three-run home run in Tuesday's rout of the Yankees.
Gomez knocked in the Astros' second run in a five-run first inning. He was the impetus behind a benches-clearing staredown after flying out in the sixth inning, when the Astros were up 9-0. The Yankees didn't like that he expressed his frustration in failing to get a hit. Gomez responded by blasting a three-run home run in the seventh inning to make it 15-0. He hasn't done much hitting otherwise since joining the Astros, owning a .191/.226/.292 batting line with two home runs and eight RBI in 95 plate appearances. Aug 25 - 10:43 PM
