Robert Andino ripped a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
It was one of two blasts on the night for the O's -- Wilson Betemit had the other one -- but they were no match for the slugging Rangers. Andino is off to a nice start this year, batting .306 with three bombs and 11 RBI.

Orioles activated INF Robert Andino from the paternity leave list.
Andino was out of the lineup Wednesday and Thursday in order to be present for the birth of his third child. However, he's back in the starting lineup Friday, batting ninth and playing second base. The O's have yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but right-hander Jason Berken will likely be sent back down to Triple-A.

Robert Andino could be activated from the paternity leave list Friday.
Andino returned to Miami after Tuesday's game to be present for the birth of his third child. His flight into Baltimore is scheduled to arrive Friday morning, so there's a good chance he's back in the lineup.

Taylor Teagarden will get a second opinion on his back injury from back specialist Dr. Andrew Dossett in Dallas.
Teagarden hasn't played at all this season due to a slight ligament tear in his lower back. His condition has improved somewhat since receiving three epidural injections, but there's no timetable for his return.

Brian Roberts (head) drew two walks in two plate appearances Wednesday at Double-A Bowie.
Roberts also scored a run and had a couple of defensive assists at second base in what was his minor league rehab debut. The 34-year-old hasn't appeared in a major league game in over a year and is likely to spend more than two weeks in the O's farm system. He's probably not worth a stash in most fantasy formats.

Mark Reynolds (oblique) is getting close to beginning a minor league rehab assignment.
Reynolds is currently doing baseball activities at the Orioles' complex in Sarasota, including tee work and fielding. Orioles manager Buck Showalter previous indicated that he could come off the disabled list by the end of the month.

Nolan Reimold (neck) is scheduled to receive a second epidural injection Friday.
Reimold has expressed some uncertainty about the need for a second shot, but he now appears to be leaning toward getting it. The 28-year-old received his first injection on May 11, but his neck condition is still causing left thumb and forearm numbness and shoulder pain. His return to the Orioles is not considered imminent.

Orioles placed Endy Chavez on the 15-day disabled list with a sore intercostal muscle.
The Orioles are calling up Tommy Hunter to start Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader in place of Jason Hammel. Since Hunter hasn't been down for 10 days, he can only replace an injured player. Chavez, who suffered the injury Tuesday, will hit the shelf to make that happen. Chavez is batting just .133/.175/.167 this year.

Zach Britton (shoulder) is scheduled to make two minor league rehab starts with Double-A Bowie before being reevaluated.
He'll make his first rehab start Saturday and another one next Thursday. If the Orioles are happy with what they see, it's possible he could be activated from the disabled list. The 24-year-old southpaw has been sidelined all season with a left shoulder impingement.

Tsuyoshi Wada underwent successful Tommy John surgery on Friday.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles. The 31-year-old left-hander will miss the rest of the season and possibly the early part of the 2013 campaign.

Lindstrom has been on the disabled list since May 11 with a partial tear of the rear ligament in his right middle finger. He should be back in the bigs by mid-June.
