Hank Conger went 2-for-4 and hit his fourth homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Conger has three homers and a double in his last five starts. He's not going to capture much additional playing time from Chris Iannetta, but it'd be interesting to see what he could do if given the occasional start at DH.

Hank Conger is starting behind the plate Wednesday against the Athletics.
It's safe to say that Conger is C.J. Wilson's personal catcher at this point. He's batting eighth Wednesday against left-hander Tommy Milone.

Hank Conger finished 3-for-3 with five RBI in Monday's Cactus League loss to the Mariners.
Conger doubled and homered, looking locked in at the plate. He is expected to serve as a fairly active backup catcher this season behind Angels starter Chris Iannetta.

Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com thinks the Angels could use Hank Conger as a trade chip.
Conger has always hit in the minors but never received an extended look at the major league level. With Chris Iannetta inking a three-year extension, it would make sense to move Conger while he still has value. He'll compete for the backup job next spring.

Madson has had multiple setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, so there's obviously no timetable for his return at this point. If he encounters another speed bump along the way, he could wind up shutting things down.

Sean Burnett does not need surgery on his injured left elbow but will be shut down for the next month.
Burnett paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday and received mostly good news. The lefty reliever had a 0.93 ERA in 9 2/3 innings this season before hitting the shelf. He is on the disabled list indefinitely.

Robert Coello (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for the next four weeks due to soreness in his elbow and shoulder.
The 28-year-old right-hander was making a strong impression in the Angels' bullpen before the elbow soreness set in. He won't be ready to return until after the All-Star break.

Angels transferred LHP Andrew Taylor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Taylor was diagnosed with a small tear in his labrum last month. While he won't need surgery, it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. The 26-year-old posted a 4.27 ERA and 56/25 K/BB ratio over 59 innings between Double- and Triple-A last year.
