Martin Prado went 0-for-4 on Wednesday and has fallen into a 2-for-19 slump.
Prado is still hitting for a better average this month and he did in April, but that's not saying much. He's gone 12 straight games without scoring a run. He has two runs scored and four RBI in 20 games overall for the month. And not only is his season OBP a lousy .283, but he's been caught on three of his four steal attempts. Good thing the Diamondbacks gave him that four-year, $40 million deal before some team could blow them out of the water this winter.

Martin Prado is batting .275 in May.
Slowly but surely, Prado is digging himself out of an awful early-season slump. In his first month with the Snakes, Prado slashed an anemic .217/.266/.348. Over 15 games this month, he's batting a reasonable .275/.339/.333. It's certainly not the start Arizona expected after acquiring Prado in the Justin Upton trade and subsequently signed him to a four-year, $40 million contract extension. Sporting his trademark multi-position eligibility and playing in cozy Chase Field, now might be the time to buy low. Prado entered the year a .319/.370/.447 career hitter in Arizona.

Martin Prado went 0-for-5 and grounded into a double play on Friday, dropping his average to .218.
Prado isn't exactly matching Justin Upton's production so far. He does have three homers, but he's in a 6-for-44 slump and he hasn't driven in a run in eight games.

Martin Prado reached all four times up Friday, going 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.
The RBI came on a bases-loaded walk. But despite reaching four times, Prado never did come around to score tonight. It's kind of odd, considering he had scored 10 runs with a .298 OBP in his first nine games.

That will be two weeks after Hill was hoping to get the go-ahead to resume baseball activities, as his fractured hand is healing much slower than expected. The original timetable had him possibly returning by late May, but he probably won't be activated until well into June now.

Bloomquist has been playing games at extended spring training and hasn't had any recent setbacks. He should be ready for activation before the end of the month.

An MRI taken Wednesday on Adam Eaton's sore left elbow showed no structural damage, but he won't throw a baseball for 2-3 weeks.
Eaton suffered a sprained UCL in March and has been dealing with renewed discomfort. The outfielder will spend the next 2-3 weeks doing strength and conditioning work before attempting to resume a throwing program. He can be ruled out until at least late June. It's a disappointing setback for one of 2013's biggest fantasy darlings.

Daniel Hudson (elbow) gave up two runs on five hits over four innings in an extended spring training game on Friday.
It's the first time since last year's Tommy John surgery that Hudson has faced hitters wearing a different uniform. The D'Backs says the righty's fastball sat in the 91-93 mph range, which is obviously a good sign. "The light at the end of the tunnel is getting a little bit brighter now," Hudson said. Hudson will appear in another extended spring game next week and doesn't appear far off from a rehab assignment. He could be back as soon as late June if all goes well, though the big club doesn't currently have room for him in the rotation.

Putz has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament, a strained flexor pronator and nerve irritation in his right elbow -- all of which can be addressed through rehab. He will try to return before the end of the 2013 season. Heath Bell has taken over Arizona's ninth-inning gig.
