Cubs signed RHP Jensen Lewis to a minor league contract.
Lewis hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 and spent last year with the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate. While he's had success in the past as a middle reliever, he remains doubtful to win a spot in the Cubs' bullpen.

Diamondbacks reassigned RHP Jensen Lewis to Triple-A Reno.
Lewis allowed only four hits over seven scoreless innings this spring, but he wasn't able to crack the talented Arizona bullpen. He'll act as relief depth this year.

Diamondbacks signed RHP Jensen Lewis to a minor league contract.
The deal also carries an invite to spring training, where Lewis will attempt to land a spot in the Arizona bullpen. He'll get a $675,000 salary if he manages the feat.

Indians released RHP Jensen Lewis.
The owner of a 3.68 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 198 major-league innings over four seasons, Lewis was struggling mightily as a reliever for Triple-A Columbus this year, posting a 5.14 ERA and 1.96 WHIP in 28 innings. Still just 27, he'll likely be able to latch on somewhere else.

He's also throwing from 120-130 feet and is expected to start swinging a bat early next week. Clevenger is on the 60-day DL and won't be eligible to return until mid-June. He should have no trouble being ready at that time, though he's not a given to return to the big club.

It was Baker's first time throwing since he was shut down near the end of spring training with a right elbow strain. The Cubs will know a lot more about his timetable once he starts to build up his workload.

Cubs manager Dale Sveum said Tuesday that Arodys Vizcaino (elbow) is a couple weeks away from appearing in a game.
He is presumably referring to an extended spring training game. Vizcaino, who will continue his rehab with the Cubs rather than at the club's spring training facility, is expected back around midseason.
