Jake McGee earned his third save of the season in Saturday's 5-4 win over the White Sox.
McGee entered proceedings in the ninth with the Rays up 5-4. After recording the first out, he made things difficult on himself by walking Gordon Beckham and allowing a single to Adam Eaton. No runs would score, though, as McGee finished off the next two batters without incident. Brad Boxberger--who had been serving as Rays closer--pitched in the eighth inning for a second straight appearance. It's certainly possible McGee could take over at closer moving forward, though nothing has been announced on that front. Jun 13 - 8:27 PM
