Chris Carter retooled his swing over the winter after watching video and is now attempting a more contact-oriented, less pull-heavy approach.
Carter has been your prototypical all-or-nothing slugger in his career, but the lack of interest in him this offseason convinced the 31-year-old he needed to change. It's super early, but the new approach has led to a 5-for-14 start this spring with one home run and just three strikeouts. Martin Maldonado, who was teammates with Carter with the Brewers and now with the Angels, says Carter "looks way different now." It will be interesting to see whether Carter's changes stick, but he's going to need an injury or two before he gets a shot with the Angels. Mar 5 - 9:06 PM
