According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets are "not in the mode" of trading Daniel Murphy.
Murphy is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2015 season and there's been talk of him being shopped in the past, but the Mets feel they are on the verge of becoming a competitive team. Murphy, 29, batted .289/.332/.403 with nine home runs and 57 RBI in 143 games this past season for New York. He's due to make around $9 million in his final year of salary arbitration.
